ING CREATIVE PHOTO COMPETITION

One picture is worth a thousand words, but did you know it could also be worth of Ten Thousand Ringgit Malaysia? ‘The ING Creative Photo Competition’ had its inaugural launch today. The contest is now accepting entries and it is open to all Malaysians with a participation fee of RM3.

ING Malaysia is the Title Sponsor for this photo competition which is organized by Moon Design Studio and co-organized by The Photographic Society of Malaysia.

This photo contest aims to attract photography enthusiasts from all walks of life by having them to show how creativity can be achieved via every type of camera available in the marketplace today.

Participants can take snap shots conveniently using their analog, digital, mobile phone or even PDA camera. It is the creative shots that the judges are searching for and so every one, irrespective of whether he or she has any professional training in photography, can take part and stand just as equal a chance to take home one of the many fantastic prizes available.

The photo competition consists of three seasons:

Season 1: 1st Nov 2005 – 31st Jan 2006 (Submission Period)
Feb 2006 (Announcement of Season 1 winners)

Season 2: 1st Mar 2006 – 31st May 2006 (Submission Period)
Jun 2006 (Announcement of Season 2 winners)

Season 3: 1st Jul 2006 – 30th Sept 2006 (Submission Period)
Oct 2006 (Announcement of Season 3 winners)

Each season will witness the Top 20 most creative photo entrants taking home cash prizes of more than RM5,000 as well as medals, certificates and sponsored gifts. The 60 winners from all the three seasons will then automatically be eligible for the Grand Finals in December2006 with their winning entries. The grand prize winner will stand a chance to win the Grand Award of RM10, 000 plus a champion trophy and many other more gifts.

Besides the cash and sponsored gifts for the seasons’ winners, there’s also an ING Special Award to be won and the good news is that the winners selected would not necessarily be one of the 60 winners in the three seasons. This means, a participant might not be a season winner but they can be the ING Special Award winner!

There are five (5) categories in which the participants can submit their entries and these categories comprise:-

1. Wonders of Nature

2. Shapes of Architecture
3. Family in Motion
4. Humours of Showtime
5. People at Work

At the launch, ING Insurance Berhad Executive Vice President, Retail Financial Services, Rien Hermans said ‘This contest serves as a personal invitation to all photo enthusiasts as we believe many of you out there would have lots of creative photos that capture special moments in your lives. Do share your favourite snapshots with us. You never know your unique photo could be the grand prize winning picture that we are looking for!"

Rien Hermans went on to explain that this photo contest was part of ING Malaysia’ branding and communications campaign. The contest served as a platform for the Company to share its brand promise ’Make life worth more. START LIVING…’ with all Malaysians. The brand’s START LIVING proposition focuses on the people’s needs to manage their financial uncertainties to make their lives worth more so that they can live life to the fullest.

Also present at the launch were YB Ng Lip Yong, the Parliamentary Secretary from the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities, organizer, co-organizer and the co-sponsors for the contest.
